Massage Therapists assess and treat physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue and joints of the body, mostly by hands-­on manipulation. Assessment and treatment can include orthopaedic and neurological testing, soft tissue manipulation (Swedish massage is the most commonly used technique), hydrotherapy, remedial exercise programs and client education programs.

Personally, Katie treats from a holistic, nervous system perspective - incorporating both breathwork and NKT (neurokinetic therapy Level 1) into each treatment so as to retrain dysfunctional neurological patterns in the system and achieve a state of rest and digest - also known as the parasympathetic nervous system). Her background in Holistic Nutrition allows for a broader knowledge of wellness and seeing the bigger picture in terms of overall health.

With a foundation as an RMT and CNP (Certified Nutritional Practitioner), Katie begins with a firm foundation of both internal and external understnading of the body. She offers the tools of intentional breathwork, somatic awareness, neurofunctional muscle testing, crianiosacral techniques, and visceral manipulation into the work done together. With these pathways of insight and ongoing education, the body is held in deep listening to support it’s capacity for rest, reconnection, and reintegration.
